You may want to check out Mom’s of Navy Daughters, Mom's of Daughters 2, and Women in the Navy.

What is your Sailor's rating (job/specialty) and/or where is she stationed (what vessel, if one)? There may be groups I can direct you to.

What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Since your SR has a contract for Air Traffic Controller (AC), join Air Traffic Controller Moms, Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!!, and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola and check out Airman Family and Friends. The Rating Information Card for AC can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ac.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

You don't need a separate group for Division 261. There will be a discussion for Divisions 261 and 262 within PIR 08/22/2014 TG 41 once the ships and divisions have been confirmed--probably later this week.

  • lemonelephant

Division 261 is on Ship 3 not Ship 2.

To remove a group, go to your group and click on “Options” in the upper right. Then click on “Edit Group.” Under “Members”, click “Approve all new members” and then click Save. Then Copy the URL to the group and go to “Report an Issue” at the bottom of the Page and click that. Click “Other” if it is not already selected and then ask Tiffany to remove your group and paste the URL. Thanks.

I received the form letter today.  He's actually in division 262, so I'm guessing that they are in brother divisions.  He is also in an integrated division.  I will ask if he's met anyone in his brother division. He did say that he's made a couple of friends.  He is also waiting to gain the respect of the people in his division before he takes on any leadership type roles.  It's nice to have someone who is going through similar things.  I've been texting a mom whose son shipped out the same day my son did (same recruiter), but they did get into the same division or even brother divisions which is a bummer.  Well, I'm going to bed.  I had to finish my homework....thank goodness for that distraction.

I wrote my son and asked about your daughter, if he knew her or had seen her.  I will ask again.  I love that story!  Have you gotten any letters from your daughter yet?  I haven't heard anything more.  I've been writing a little bit every day.  I've mailed out like three letters so far. It's hard not to be able to pick up the phone and text or call.

Hi Soccermom2!  Brendon called today, we talked for about 5-7 minutes.  He sounds like he really misses home.  He's been trying to get in touch with his girlfriend, but she is camping and out of service range.  I reassured him that she wasn't purposefully trying to avoid or miss his calls.  I hope that helped.  He did say that he got 2 of my letters.  I think that I have sent 3 so far.  He said he was mailing one out tomorrow.  I was looking on the writing fun, and there was the suggestion about having the pet "write" the letter, so I wrote a letter from his dog.  I'm sure that will get passed around, because I find it pretty funny.  He also gave me homework.  hahaha, being from Oregon, I had to look up to see who the Trail Blazers drafted or traded.  The things we do for our kids. I will keep you posted on when I get a letter.  I'm thinking that maybe this is the first chance that they have had to write.  I don't know, but with everything that I read about the person in charge of the mail needing to be trained and stuff, may be they don't let them write until that person is trained.
