Since your son is interested in the Academy you should have him look into the STA-21 Program.  (Seaman to Admiral, 21st century).  You should be able to google it & get some good info.  I think there might even be a group on here for it (don't know how active it is, but it should have some info on how they go about applying for it).  I think if he went that route he would start nuke school & then if he is accepted into the STA-21 program he goes to college to get his degree & then he would go back & do the nuke program again (Power school & Prototype) from the officer side.

Hi Rhonda - I sent you a PM.  I would still like to get together with you sometime if we can make our schedules work!  Glad to see things are going well so far for your SR ;-)

RhondaK. So on my way to a salon this morning at 9:30 and missed his phone. I was ready to cry. He did call my mother in law and spoke to her for 20 min and said he would be flying out Sat morning to Pensacola, I'm so trying not to cry because I thought we would get him most of Sat. How many hours after grad can we see him? Does anyone know? Trying to stay positive. So sorry you will not make the meet and greet.

I'm so glad to hear that you will be at the meet and greet and thank you for your positive thoughts. My son told my mother in law that his flight leaves at 7 am Sat. I wonder if they are on the same flight. See you on Thursday and safe travels.
