My husband is a Navy vet, he in for the first gulf war and couldn't be more proud to see out youngest following his his shoes.

    Hi,
My son arrived today in Newport, RI for Officer Candidate School - OCS. Is there a place or site that would be good for me to visit as a mom in this situation?
    Thank you!

Thank you for allowing me to be part of this.  I just came across this page yesterday.  My husband is active duty and has been for 21 years and now my son is following his Dad's footsteps.  Couldn't be more proud of my boys.

    Thank you again.

Thanks Erin!  Husband and I are flying in the morning for our son's PIR.  He's off to nuke school in SC afterward. I only logged on here for the first time today.  Lots of helpful info.    I'm sure I'll be back with questions as time goes by. We are lucky to have a friend whose son finished the same path last month. God bless!  Gina Coon

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this. This is day one for me and I am alone and quite emotional. I didn't think it would be this tough but I am literally sick I've been overcome with so much emtion. I held it together long enough for him to walk away but now I'm left alone with all kinds of thoughts running through my mind. I haven't been alone in 20 yrs.

Can I get that kind of help here? I have a message for her from her SR I have tried 4 other navy pages I'm on and I'm not having any luck. I was told to try here.
