I have 4 children. 1 daughter and 3 sons. My oldest son left for boot camp on 4/11/17. I have so much to learn as a Navy Mom and want to be strong, supportive, and positive for my son on this life journey.
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
At Boot Camp now
When I heard “Navy,” I...
needed to learn more about it, was proud and encouraged it, had concerns or fears
The Navy offers opportunities that...
My son wouldn't have access too otherwise.
Our Navy experience so far...
has been positive and maturing., is challenging and exciting., has presented us with many questions., is a work in progress!
You will be able to enjoy extra time with your Sailor following PIR. Plan to leave late Sunday or on Monday if you are able to do that. (See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend.)
Divisions 179 and 180 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 (BST) together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. Write to your recruit and ask when Battle Stations-21 (BST) will be so you will know when to expect the "I'm a Sailor!" call.
Calls are totally up to the RDC. Don't expect a call, but have your phone available at all times (especially from 8 am to 8 pm Central Time M-Th and Sat and from 1 pm to 8 pm Central Time on Fridays and Sundays--calls at other times are possible, but generally indicate a problem or a need for information) and be pleasantly surprised when you get a call. See Phone Cards and Phone Calls.

Since your recruit has contracted within the E-PACT program, the information within Professional Apprenticeship Career Tracks (PACT) Program will be of interest to you.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info.
Take care and blessings to you and yours.
