Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.

The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will be of interest to you since you have a recruit in a performing division. I believe that Division 950 is Triple Threat.

Write to your recruit and ask when Battle Stations-21 (BST) will be to know when to expect the "I'm a Sailor!" call.

You may want to check out Mom's of Daughters 2.

I see you have joined Engineers; you may also want to check out GL A-school moms. You can also check out the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page.

You will be able to enjoy extra time with your Sailor following PIR. Plan to leave late Sunday or on Monday if you are able to do that. (See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend.)

Junogirl thank you for sharing your story. Reading what other Moms and Dads have to say has made this easier for me. After reading many of the comments I sent my daughter a package yesterday full of things she has not asked for but other recruits have. She has been there since August 29th and I have not heard from her other that her first formal letter home. I am hoping when she opens her package she will be pleasantly surprised to find a phone card, icy hot, moleskin, bobby pins, hair ties and a little makeup. I imagine she will have a good laugh but then hopefully think I am a mind reader.

There have been rumors of extended BC for some time, but so far every recruit has 6 weeks of actual training with about a week of P-days and then a few extra days before or after so that the average time at BC is 9 Fridays. Some may have 8 Fridays and some 10 Fridays depending on when they arrive and what division they are put in.
