Thanks so much, Pat! I've met you at a meet-n-greet at Olive Garden in Bloomington over a year ago--just in case you can't remember, like me. :D I will offer her the option and see what she wants to do. She's 27, so it's not like she's a little 18-year-old getting around. But she's my baby.

My son just left yesterday for boot camp in NF.  I am looking for something to keep me a little more occupied, and this looks like a great place to start.  Thanks!

thanks Pat, I am friends with Whit's mom, so I was keeping up to day, funny, I would get people's comments back to her, but not her original message, maybe it will be better now!

My son left last week, and it appears that he will have PIR the week of Thanksgiving, or if they didn't fill a division the week after.  I am still waiting (very impatiently) for the letter.  This is so much harder than I anticipated.  But, if PIR is the week of Thanksgiving, do you have any idea on whether they get more time before they fly to A school?

Hi Pat, I wrote a message on the Mollys Adopt A Sailor discussion page but I don't know if I did it right. I just wanted to let someone know I could do 8 of those little boxes that go into the bigger box. Also I was wondering if there were any others down where I am at the shore area in NJ so I could get together with them and help. Thanks hopefully I will get the hang of this computer stuff soon. lol

Thanks for the comment - I joined the site and noticed there wasn't much activity.  My son is on the Pasadena and I was just trying to find a site that may have others in the same situation as me.  Mom of a first time deployed Sailor!

Prior to their deployment I was getting emails from the Family Readiness Group but nothing for quite a while.  I am not sure if nothing is being sent?  Or if it changed because my son all of a sudden got married in December so information may have been changed to be sent to her and her and I don't communicate much!  So I am not sure of anything except I am not getting any emails from him anymore and neither is she so I am assuming this is normal?!?  This is new to us and not sure what to expect!  When you say FB Pasadena FRG is that a Facebook page?  If so, I am not currently watching that page. 

My son is a Nuke too so I am sure Kacey's son and my son must know each other :)

Oh that is so neat!  I don't feel totally lost now knowing someone else who is in the same situation as me!  That is a good idea to number your emails. 

Hi Pat, No decision. Since there were so many boxes being assembled I decided to wait and see just where they would all go. Then I would send to a group that is not getting as many. I can make a couple pillowcases tomorrow too. So, if you have a feel for where another box would help I'd get it ready this weekend and week. Thanks for checking back!

I see you have changed your Username so that it does not contain your last name (you probably did that some time ago); you also need to change the URL to this page to remove it from there. If you do, make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. (If you are using a Smart phone, you will need to switch to Desktop View to make this change.)  

Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.

It's not a good idea to post a pic of your Sailor every time you post, so also make change 4.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP code to one that is not easily associated with your Sailor.

There's been lots of issues with N4M lately.  I've been working with the ad agency that handles the N4M account and I am having a conference call with them on Thursday morning.  I've got a few other mom's (& a dad) on here that I've been communicating with and they are going to be in on the call.  If you would like to join us, let me know.  It will be Thursday, 11/17 at 10am CT.  I can give you the info if you want to be in on it.  Otherwise I can just let you know what's happening afterwards.  Doing my best to help save the site!

Hi Pat, question how does one get adopted on the Carrier, My son is on there and I ask to let me send boxes of snacks and stuff and he said he is ok no need. Now are there certain groups that get adopted.

Hi Pat,  it's been forever.  Just an FYI.  

I wrote to P&G asking for a donation of any products they might consider.  It's late in the year to ask but you never know.
