    Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.

This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.

Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!

deniseg - Good morning! I am one of the ladies that helps out on BC Mom answer questions and comments. I am also notified when new members join, so I saw you had joined the other day. This site can be a little overwhelming and when you are viewing it on a phone it can be difficult also. It is much easier to navigate on computer. If you are on your phone, be sure to put it in desktop mode.

I just wanted to reach out to you and let you know that we are here to help you and your daughter in any way that we can. Your questions and comments are always welcome on the BC Moms group.

deniseg's- Hi again.  :) I welcomed you on our bc group page. I just wanted to say welcome again and it is good to have you here. I also stayed on after mine graduated PIR to help out the other moms. It is a roller coaster of emotions but we are here for you.

  • ZanesGma

You are absolutely right deniseg! Thank you for the welcoming as you too are just beginning as well. :)

We received a brief call from our son upon arrival at quarantine. My oldest son took the call - it came in at 12:03 a.m. It was the typical, "I'm here. I'm safe. Love you."

Just remember that some things make it easier. This group of wise women, for instance. And today, I had to pay his personal property tax on his truck since we neglected to coordinate little things like finances before he left. We WILL have a discussion after BC ;-)

Puppy (she's actually 10+ years old) seems to be perking up. I am becoming well-acquainted with, shall we say...digestive issues. But, that's what we moms do, right?

I've begun to put the letters I've written to him in individual envelopes, numbered of course! I will have to write a letter to him from his dog, so he knows exactly how horrifying the trip was to the vet (from her perspective, at least.)

Hang in there, everyone. Love you all!

deniseg - Thank you!! You have a wonderful day as well!

    Hey Deniseg,

That's how I felt to about the letter writing. I felt close to him somehow when I was writing.  :)

    Have a good day.  :)

Hi deniseg - Yes, we're at 4 weeks and a few days. Postmark was June 1, so they're rockin' and rollin'! Hang tight! She'll be fine. Blessings.

    deniseg,

I'm sorry this welcome message is late but I have been busy spending time with family so now I'm playing catch up!!!  I'm glad you joined our little group. I see your daughter is in boot camp now? It is quite a different environment than it was just a year ago so I hope you get to hear from her soon. We are a friendly, caring group of moms who have daughters in all stages of Navy life - from newbies to those whose daughters have been in for several years - from officer to enlisted!!! We support all our sailor girls and each other as well. Not just during the Bootcamp days but the weeks and months following, as they go off to school, first duty station, or first deployment.  Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!!  We look forward to getting to know you and your sailor!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!
