    Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

We ask that our members not use a last name or email address in their Username - even if it differs from their Sailor's - so please head to “Settings” on the main page right away to set your new Username (be creative!) and add a profile image (no last names visible) to complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas.

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.

This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you.  We look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.

Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!

    Welcome OBKY,

I left a message for you on the main page. I am a teacher as well. What do you teach? How is everything going in your neck of the woods? Not so well here. I live in one of the hot spots right now. Az. We closed our bars, gyms and restaurants have to have less than 50% capacity. Stay safe and healthy out there.

Hi OBKY - I was looking and I think their is an AO Moms group on here, but it appears to not be very active, also it is not a public group so I can't double check. Let's get you through BC and then when you are ready to get more information, we can help you. I am not one of the Admins, but they can help you locate a group, if you wish.

    Hey,

Oh my goodness. High school. I haven't worked at the high school for a while now.  That is awesome. Congratulations on your years and thank you for everything you do for our kids. This will be my 20th year I can't believe it. :) I'm glad your state has been doing well. I just want people to follow and listen so our numbers can start going down. But we will see. I am anxious to see what they are going to do with our schools to.

Good morning OBKY, my son is in Great Lakes right now too and graduates AUG. 21, if there are no delays. He’s in division 287, I’m hoping maybe our sons end up knowing each other, we live in Boone County KY. I enjoyed your post because it gave me an idea of what my son might be doing now too. I’ve had a letter from him that came with the form letter but no phone calls.

Good morning! I do need help finding that on Facebook, what would I search for? My son from Louisville on the 22 of June. Did your son happen to mention how often they have mail call?

  • Kmr5+1

Never mind, my husband found it! Thanks for the tip!

Just wanted you to know that I have all respect and admiration for what all of you in public education are dealing with. It is not easy when you are mandated by others. You have my prayers.

Be sure to call and talk to your parents as much as possible. And do lots of hand washing and take Vit D! We can't do a lot, but we also can't listen to some of the overblown scare tactics that are going on as well. Our family needs our love and our hugs but I know it is hard. My parents are both gone and I don't know what I would have done, but somehow, we would have brought my mother to come live with us or gotten her an apartment. I would not have wanted her to be in a nursing home by herself.

Remind your students that the most important thing they can do with Covid as with any virus is to wash their hands and teach them to keep a handkerchief in their pocket, or Kleenex. Sneeze in that and then wash hands. We wash away the germs, not just sanitize them. My daughter's classroom had a sink in it, but not all schools do, now I know why! To easily wash hands.

OBKY - Just remember that time really does go by faster than we think it does. Of course, my husband reminds me that happens more when we are enjoying what we do - but the peak is there. My son recently reached his half way mark of his 6 years and I was thinking - you know the last 3 years have flown by, I have another child starting their senior year and then we will be sending our last one out the door, maybe. My sailor will only have 2 years left and who knows.  - We don't always have peaks to reach the downhill side, but we always keep moving forward, and as my MIL would say " if it is not this then it would be something else" - I think it is great that your dad wanted a new phone to be able to face time with his grandson!!!!
