    Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.  This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.  Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!

Please note - there are blue hyperlinks up above.  Click on them and they will take you directly to the groups.

HI Eds Mom Danielle. I see that you are a member of the BC Mom group. I think you joined when I was really busy and not able to post a hello for you.

As I said in my reply on the phone card post, it really is better to ask any and all questions about BC on our group page, down in the Comment Wall section. The way this site notifies people, most of them will not see your random posts in various spots, but they should see your questions in the Comment Wall area.

Welcome!! Please read my blog to give you an idea of what the first few weeks may look like.. Welcome to the Navy... Everything will be ok!  The First part is some things to do before your SR leaves IF you Can, It’s NOT ESSENTIAL! Up and to the Left is a link to all the Navy Lingo! It is titled Navy Speak and you can find it here. We are here to get you through the “Great Silence” of the next 4 weeks (ish) and the 10 weeks of BC (ish). You will come to learn that No News Is GOOD News and everything is Needs of the Navy. You life will be Hurry Up and Wait and it’s ok to make plans but they are subject to change until after they have happened so it’s best to embrace the Motto: Semper Gumby!! (Always Flexible!!)

I’m new to this site but have quickly learned these Moms know what they are talking about!
Just might get through this with all of the support here.

Best of luck to you and your recruit!

Hi Danielle I believe he will be signing his contract Monday morning and then they are discussing what date thereafter I’m a wreck also because he is about to go sign the biggest part of potentially the next 4 plus years of his life away and although I can’t wait and we are a baby family I want to go with him or even help ask questions etc and he will not have it! He wants to be responsible etc etc and I get it but he’s 19 and he thinks he kno s it all you know I write things down for him to ask and it’s like crickets. I am praying he realizes this is not a practice it’s the real deal and he has to prepare. Please say a prayer for me I need it! Lol and from one moms heart to another I am saying prayers for you and your beautiful son as well. You did good mama bear that he’s ready and getting ready to go! Congratulations 😀and yes NYers stick together! Was your new friend Yvonne
