I am a very Proud mother of 4 kids, my oldest son is a sophomore in college, and twins son's one just went to BC for the Navy and the other is leaving soon for BC for the Army and our daughter is in Jr. High
Hi TAMOM. It's great to hear we have so much in common. Hopefully our boys have a had a chance to get to know each other. I'm still trying to figure all of this out so thank you for the advice, I'll change my name shortly. I can tell you I have had a very hard time with this new adventure in my son's life. He came to us right before memorial day and told us he was going to join, three weeks later he was gone. We knew when he was younger he wanted to join then he dropped talking about it. I can only imagine the range of emotions you have sending two off, in two different directions. It was great to hear from you and hope to hear from you soon.
Hi TAMOM, I have thought about you this week. I can't imagine what you're going through. I am so sorry to hear you haven't received a letter yet. Yes, we have received letters and yes, Ship 7 divisions moved to Ship 14. Division number would be the same, street address is 3410 Sailor Dr, but I heard that mail sent to the old address will be routed to Ship 14. I think both division 259 and 260 are either on training day 2-2 or 2-3 if you have seen the day by day breakdown and want to have an idea. I have read where 260 has a tough RDC (old SEAL) as are the RDC's in 259. So far lots of PT, lots of punishment (intensive training), folding, ironing, studying. 259 and therefore probably 260, had a test today. If they scored well, they are to get to call. My son thinks they should get to call soon and thinks they will be allowed to call on the 17th for sure, but from what i have read on here, nothing is certain. I got a letter today and my son is devastated. His best friend there was medically seperated on Monday and my son is taking that hard. I hope he can get his head back into it. I have worried about him all afternoon. I hope you get something soon, letter or phone call. Hang in there.
TAMOM, hope you have received a call. I have seen where many from 260 where posting they had no calls yet. Some in 259 have called, some haven't. I did get a call so things are much better for us now. Our boys would be on their 3-3 day today (friday). I'm glad you are at least getting information from you Army recruit. Hoping you hear something soon from the Navy side if you haven't yet. They should be taking basic seamanship skills classes first of next week and starting guns after that. Just 4 weeks left! Getting a call will make all the difference, I'll be praying you hear soon.
