Modesto I am sorry for your loss my prayers are with you nd your family. Andiskees, your daughter is a very strong young woman. Prayers for a speedy recovery and strength for her and your family. I just finished a long message on my computer but lost my signal and the message. Now in hurricane warning for cat 1 storm - 75 mph. So time to hunker down and prepare hopefully this wicked thunder lightning and rain will subside for a while and we can get outside to secure our stuff. At least it will only be cat 1. Prepare for the worst hope for the best! That's our motto I the keys. Stay safe my FL friends. Will keep all posted as service permits, hopefully we will not lose power but....... Have a good day. We will Continue to hAng tight. :-)

Hi Momof2sailors. No calls here either. I also keep telling myself "No news is good news". At this point I will be so happy when we finally get the "I am a Sailor" call. I will just be ecstatic if we get some communication before then. I have only received 1 letter so far & that was a few weeks ago. His girlfriend has received 3 or 4 letters & we can tell he seems to be doing just fine. I can only imagine how busy they must be. I keep writing letters & hoping I will get a 2nd one soon. We now have less than 3 weeks to go!

I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!  We are a close, friendly, supportive group of Moms and look forward to getting to know you and your sailors.  Please feel free to jump in and join our chats.  You can ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life.  We are all in different phases of our daughters Naval careers and we are always there for each other!!!   So you have two sailors - you'll have to share with us all about them!!  I have a daughter who enlisted in 08 and is out now but working as a contractor at the same command she served in.  Her twin sister is in her 9th week of Officer Candidate training, and a son who is serving his 8th year and just reenlisted for 6 more!!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!!
