Join the group, DEP-Leavin' for Boot Camp in February. You will meet others with loved ones leaving 02/18/2014 or that week who may be in the same TG and have PIR together. Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. I also suggest you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and begin checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions there. You may want to check out Mom’s of Navy Daughters, Mom's of Daughters 2, and Women in the Navy.

Your future Sailors may want to join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view. Craig runs that and will steer them to some good links on there.

You may want to join Japan Mom's.

What is your Sailor's rating (job/specialty) ? Where is he stationed (what vessel, if one)? There may be groups I can direct you to.

Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link).

If your Username contains your last name, also make changes 1 and 2.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP Code to one that is not easily associated with you or your Sailor.

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted." You can make that change on the same page when you change the ZIP Code.
