Hello aileen3mc, we live west of Plymouth. As a matter of fact, our daughter-in-law (DIL) graduated from Keene State. Fortunately, our DIL has received two calls and she keeps us updated. We have been empty nesters since our SR's graduation from college. We are anxious to receive a letter from him. I hear he is doing well. How is your SR?

Didn't want to freak anyone out on the PIR page so didn't put this there, but yes, 3 SRs have passed away in the past 18 mos, but all from complications of pre-existing conditions that were not disclosed/discovered yet.  They watch the SRs closely and have Medical right there.  Even though many get sick during RTC and some are even hospitalized, amazingly even the hospitalized ones usually aren't delayed in training and become sailors!  They work with them to get them back on schedule.

Hi, I see you have joined MAA Moms. MA is a rating very dear to my heart since my Sailor is an MA. Join San Antonio MA's; the discussion, Break down week by week, will let you know what happens at NTTC Lackland (San Antonio). Other groups to check out are New MAA Mom's (it has not been very active) and Security Sailors (it is not as active and includes loved ones of Sailors from other ratings as well). The Rating Information Card for MA can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ma.pdf. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
