Hi Cynthiajb - thank you for the friend request! You should also join the "Nuke Moms" group as it is a little more active than the Charleston group. But do look in the discussion forum on the Charleston group and you will find lots of info about nuke school and what to expect on arrival.....There is also a good discussion on the nuke moms site about surviving Nuke school. You might also want to join the "Emptynesters" site.

Since your SR will be in the Nuclear Field, you may also want to check out Nuke A School FAQ. The Rating Information Card for NF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/nukepower.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
