Hi, wanted to welcome you to the AECF group. Sooooo...California to GL in January ---- yeah ick! We were up there Dec. 5th and it snowed five inches but hey...you gotta to go where love takes ya!

I can say that as I was a Navy wife for over 10 years, my hubby was an FC - our first address was in Japan and we made a baby there and he is now an FC as well and is stationed in Hawaii.

Your hubby won't know if he is an ET or an FC until the end of boot camp but both are great jobs with lots of schooling on the front end. Expect him to be at GL for A school about a year and then he will move off to another state for C school. Length and location will be determined at the end of A school.

We do have a "wives club" thread inside the AECF group that you may want to take a look at. Good info about housing areas, etc. in GL. Good luck to your hubby while he is getting thru bootcamp, please let us know what questions we can help with.
