- Hey my name is Linda i am a single mom of 2 kids..19 girl and 17 boy. My daughter joined the Navy and leaves for bootcamp on Nov. 21st 2012. I am very proud of her because my dad was in the Navy during WWII stationed in the Phillipines. I tried to join when i was 18 but i had a hearing problem and didn't make it thur the phyisical so my daughter is living out my dream.

I am so sorry you missed your daughter's call. I missed my son's today as well, although he got to talk to his sister and that was important to her. He left me a message and choked up at the end of the call. I know he misses us, but will be way too busy in a very short amount of time to think any more about it. They are so resilient. I did send a prayer up for him all the other SR that missed their parents this afternoon that they would be lifted up and comforted. I guess I should add us mom's to that prayer, huh?
