Yes, that would be the normal procedure. Some recruits have a rough time early on and then do fine, so they take time to check things out pretty thoroughly with a counselor to help them decide if the recruit's condition will pose a danger to himself or his fellow shipmates in the immediate future or while in the fleet if he were permitted to continue. It does take a while to complete the process once the decision has been made to send the recruit to SEPS. You may want to join the group, Ship 5 Moms(Formerly Ship 17) (clickable link). Ship 5 is for those recruits in the process of being discharged from Boot Camp.
