A little about me:
I am a mom to 3 boys, one of whom is soon to leave for Boot Camp. I am a teacher's aide at our church preschool, homeschool our youngest son, play in a Christian rock band, am active in our church music department, and am an avid crafter. I very much enjoy taking care of my family.

I am very proud of my son and know that he has always been destined to serve our country. We've been active in Scouting with him achieving Eagle last year. Even though I support his decision to join the Navy, I have mixed feelings about him leaving home. But at the same time I'm excited to watch him grow and mature in this new life.

Hi, good to see somebody from fairly close to home.  We are from Columbus and I see you are from Marion.  Our boys look about the same age. My son is 19.  He is in ship 2 div 924.  I don't really understand how big the divisions are and how much they interact with each other. Did your son leave from Columbus?  Mine left Feb 24.  Sounds like he was there several days before some others in his group.  He said they were very delayed, but I have no clue what they did while waiting? My son's initials are  DM  ....Still not sure abt if we can use names or not, so I won't.  Hope your son's experience is good.  I will keep you updated if/when I hear more from my son and hope you do the same.  Take care.

Chimelle: Thanks for your reply. My son, DM, does have a nice singing voice and he played trumpet during middle school and 2 yrs in high school,  I am, however, very surprised that he went out for the performing group.  I am interested to hear more about it, but so far I have no clue.  This was a strange journey for us, but I am happy that he is doing this.  We always expected him to go to college right out of HS, but his Dad got cancer DM's SR yr of HS and $ for college was short with medical expenses. This led DM to exploring his options.  I initially suggested ROTC or reserves, but he took the Navy Test and scored a 98 and got into the Nuke program and got very excited about it and then there was no holding him back.  My Husband is now doing very well and cancer free. I have 3 younger children as well.  Your son looks very nice.  What is his path in the Navy?

Thanks for the invite Chimelle:  I am trying to figure out this website, so I am in a learning curve. HA... My son J is actually going into CTT nor CTN.  We are from the Denver, CO area and it is exciting to find others from all over the country who are going through the same things- It is hard being so out of touch with J- As soon as I can figure out how to load pictures I will send some.

Great to keep in touch with others and pray for our sons!!!
