Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!
Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.
This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.

My sailor went through BC 3 years ago and is now in the fleet but I and others still stay active on BC Mom to help our new members.
Hi Navymom 1975, the quarantine situation is definitely crazy and unusual. My son left 11-18 and should have been at RTCGL on 12-3. We haven't heard anything so that's good. Bootcamp is so hard on us moms (this is my second son going into the military, 1st son is in USCG for past 4yrs and loves it). I thought it would be easier this time. NO WAY! lol. I was Christmas decorating and crying yesterday. Just hang in there, we all understand the anxious feelings. The ladies here will be a tremendous support and full of information. Have a blessed day, prayers for you and your son!
