Mom of 4. All grown up. My youngest daughter just left for boot camp. I work full time and so does my husband. I still have an 18yr old at home as well.

The Navy offers opportunities that I know my daughter won't find anywhere else. I'm very proud of her, and know she will succeed. I know the Navy will teach her to be strong and independent.

    BTW, rate is pay grade and is the same as rank for other branches (E-1 or SR, E-2 or SA, E-3 or SN). We seldom ask about rate. Rating is job or occupational specialty that one has a contract for, HM for your recruit. After the Sailor completes "A" School, rate and rating go together to make the rate badge and then many simply refer to that as the rate, HR, HA, HN and so on, for example.
