You may want to join Duty Station NAS Oceana, VA Beach VA and also Norfolk Sailors - Family & Friends since Dam Neck is in that area.
The Rating Information Card for IS can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/is.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.) That indicates approximately 13 weeks, “A” School in approximately 16 weeks after classing up.
Since IS is one of the Spook ratings, the information within the Page, OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile), will be important for you.

If your Username contains your last name, you need to make changes 1, 2, and 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). (If it doesn't, you still need to make change 3.) There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes. I also suggest changes 6 and 7.
