If he doesn't get the waiver, please make sure he know that it is not some stupid black, negative mark on him. Boys can be very blustery but most are more sensitive than you know. You must tell him that there are many doors to all sorts of adventures in life. If one doesn't work out, there will be others. Look for the silver lining. Believe me, I have two boys - the 27 year old sailor (going on 35 so mature and responsible) - then there is his 23 year old mercurial brother who goes with the wind. That is why I have grey hair.
