Hi Bobbi Ray, I seen your questions about your son's FTS or TAR assignment with the Navy and it can be confusing. I do have a friend and her son is also FTS and when she told us he was reserves but full time support - we were terribly confused but her son has now been in just shy of three years. He did A school in GL and then went to a ship in Washington and has been on sea duty since. Her understanding is by being a Reserve FTS - he would never be deployed overseas however perhaps that means stationed overseas as his ship does deploy and certainly outside of the US. For all intends and purposes - he appears to be a full time enlisted sailor just like our son is. Wishing your son well!
Bobby Ray, Until they get their actual orders you won't know where he is heading or even what he will be doing but if he is FTS - he could be assigned to a ship. My friends son has never served in his home state as of yet, he's been assigned to a ship on the west coast.
When will your son be getting out of boot camp? Aviation rates generally train in Pensacola, FL and after that he could go anywheres!
