A little about me:: Well, I'm a mom of 6 and two step kids. My oldest has been talking about joining for quite some time, high school, but I think may have been a bit scared to. Now that his life has not cooperated I think he took this as a sign to follow through. I am so proud and excited for him that he will get a great education and see the world. This is an opportunity I wish all my kids would take!

The Navy offers opportunities that...: So far, my experience has been positive. A new relationship has formed for my son and myself. One that I will cherish always. I've learned how strong my son really is. And through his strength I am finding my own.

Deployment was the biggest test. Letting your oldest go to grow up and be a man in this way is a tough road. I only want the best for him and I hope that he takes what he can from the positive and the negative.
Our Navy experience so far...: It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
