You will be able to enjoy extra time with your Sailor following PIR. Plan to leave late Sunday or on Monday if you are able to do that.(See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend.)
Hey Regina! I am a wreck - how about you? I think I might actually be better once he leaves, in some odd way - the anticipation is what is killing me, but I want to just enjoy my time with him before he goes.
I know he will be great, once he gets there - it is just getting him there! He needs to lose a little more weight before the big day - not because he is out of shape, but he went overboard on the weight lifting since he first enlisted, and now he is TOO bulky!

Join AECF - FCs and ETs; your recruit will discover his rating while in BC, usually near the end of BC. "A" School is in GL, so you will also want to join Great Lakes A School Q&A and GL A-school moms. You can also check out the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page.
The Rating Information Card for AECF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/aecf.pdf. (It has an error in the number of weeks for ATT; it should be 9 weeks instead of 11 for FC and 11 weeks rather than 119 weeks for ET.) The Rating Information Card for Electronics Technician (ET) can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/et.pdf and the one for Fire Controlman (FC) can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/fc.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.) https://www.thebalancecareers.com/advanced-electronics-computer-fie... has more info for you on AECF; https://www.thebalancecareers.com/electronics-technician-3345811 has info on ET; and https://www.thebalancecareers.com/fire-controlman-3355020 has info on FC.
