Hi Julie, My name is Vickie and my son is David. Yes, I have seen pics and info regarding the ship. My son was laughing b/c I knew more about his ship than he did! His portcall was scheduled and then canceled three times before he finally left so I had lots of time to check it out. David finished bootcamp in July 2011 and was in A school in San Diego until July 2012. He is a sonar tech. He was in Norfolk for six weeks before he left. We live in Maryland so he came home each weekend. We knew it might be his last time home so saying goodbye each time only to have his orders canceled was very stressful! What is your son's job? When did you last see him?
