Mom of 4, my son graduated Navy Boot Camp on April 12th and is now in Pensacola. Just trying to learn as much as I can about the Navy because I am clueless!

    Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.  

    Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

    Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.

    Hello masonsmom! Congratulations to your son! I see you posted your son has completed the AIRR pipeline. My son leaves in less than 2 weeks for BC.  He contracted as AIRR as well & is excited about his journey ahead.  All I want for him of course, like all parents is to be happy with his choice to serve. Thank you for being willing to answer some questions. Any advice you could give me would be great. 

    Is your son happy with his decision? Is it what he expected if not, more?  How long was school for AIRR?  Along with AIRR does he have another job?  We're you able to visit? (although i'm sure with Covid things are different). Was he able to keep a car there? How are the living conditions in Pensacola?
