I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!! I'm glad you found us. So your daughter is in boot camp now? Come join the chat on our group page - there is usually someone on every day. We are a friendly, caring group of moms who have daughters in all stages of Navy life - from newbies to those whose daughters have been in for several years - from officer to enlisted!!! We support all our sailor girls and each other as well. Not just during the bootcamp days but the weeks and months following, as they go off to school, first duty station, or first deployment. Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!! We look forward to getting to know you and your sailor!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!
No need to apologize for a long post, I love reading about other Moms and their sailors!!! It sounds like your girl is doing well, I hope that continues for her throughout the rest of her bootcamp experience. Do not be alarmed if you get a letter and she sounds down or frustrated. These divisions have to work hard to come together as a group and sometimes it's frustrating when it some of them just don't catch on as quickly as the rest!!!! She may complain to you but just know that she needs a safe haven to vent and someone she can complain to, cause they can't do it there. By the next letter chances are things will be all better!!!! Also I need to caution you about sending cards. Just make sure they are in plain envelopes and won't bring unnecessary attention to her. No musical cards or oversized cards. Also the recruits don't have a lot of room to keep their mail so just keep that in mind as you send these cards off to her. They do love their mail and jokes, little comics, inspirational sayings, all those things help them have just a moment to feel peace!!! Good luck to your girl!! Let me know if there is anything I can help you with.
