    Welcome to NAVYForMoms!

Members are looking forward to meeting you and answering your questions.

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines, and recommendations 1 - 7 at this OPSEC/PERSEC page.

We ask that you not use your last name in your Username (even if it differs from your Sailor's) and not post photos with names visible on uniforms, for OPSEC reasons and the security of both you and our Sailors.  Please go to “Settings” on the main page to reset your Username, add a profile image and complete your Profile.

Jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and their Discussion Forums.  Search for groups for boot camp, your PIR date, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" school, duty station or homeport and ship, and also your own state, region or home town, and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas.

Be sure to introduce yourself when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - we were all new to this once, too  :)  We look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor, and welcome to the NAVY family!

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info.

What is your recruit’s Navy Occupational Specialty (NOS) or field going to be? There are groups for most specialties and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.

ReneeT.......e, I see you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains your last name; you also need to change the URL to this page. Make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile)  (clickable link) to take care of that. (If you are using a Smart phone, you will need to switch to Desktop View to make this change.) You may want to change your Username again to one that does not include any part of your name or his (see change 1).

Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP Code to one that is not easily associated with you or your recruit.
