My son expressed interested in joining Navy when he was a freshman. Thanks to his step dad who has previously served in the Navy that introduced my son to Sea Cadet. Got him enrolled in DEP and ever since then, I become so curious and proud that how an annoyed lazy dirty kid who can't even keep his room clean or do his own laundry, play video games all day long will soon be transform.

The Rating Information Card for MN can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/mn.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.) That indicates that “A” School is about 19 weeks, but “A” School is about 13 weeks after classing up and “C” School, which is also in San Diego, is about 3 weeks.
