I am an elected official with 3 children. My oldest son is an officer, currently in a training rotation in Florida.
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Officer
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was concerned or afraid
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Haven't experienced it yet. Hope that I WILL be able to experience it someday. My son has a couple of physical issues that may hold him back. (Knee injury from football and shoulder injury from a crash in which he was hit by a drunk driver.)
Thanks Kathy...it's a shame more aren't active on this site...when I look on facebook, and read the comments, I just assumed there would be more activity on here...oh well.
I'm Kathy also! As you know, we had the Pope grace our lovely state recently. We are about 2 hours from Philly. Our Church had a lottery for the buses from our area. Alas, we didn't make the cut, but it was exciting watching on TV!
Are you officially a Navy Mom yet? I never thought any of my boys would join the Navy, but I am so glad they did. I kinda had them "Army Groomed", but they decided the Navy was best... I agree...So many changes to the Army, and since I know practically nothing about the Navy, when things happen, I don't get quite as upset. The 2 oldest were in the Army, and I was constantly getting upset with the New Army system.
Well...I am glad you reached out...we Catholics need to stick together in this rapidly changing country. Our Faith is what makes us real and whole as humans...
have a wonderful evening!!
Kathy
Given your loved one's current training, I also suggest change 4. It is best not to include ANYONE closely associated with him in your profile pic.
Consider removing pics of your loved one from your My Page given his current training. See change 5.
There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP Code to one that is not easily associated with you or your loved one.
I also suggest changes 6 and 7.
(Read 800 and 900 Divisions for additional information to help you decide what changes to make.)

Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). I suggest "Just My Friends" given your son's current training.
