I am the mother of 5 children, 5 grandchildren. My youngest son is Kevin, serving on the Uss Kearsarge, United States Navy.
I work full time for a Pediatrics Medical Group. I live in California. I enjoy staying active, excercising and spending time with family and friends.

This is the first time my son has been away from family and friends. And to not have the freedom to come and go, and to do the things he likes to do is probably very hard for him a huges transition from the life he is used to. to.So far the Navy has been a very good positive thing for him. I have learned how important it is to communicate to my son through email and letters how proud of him we are. To encourage him in everyway and to always be posivite and support him in everything is doing.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

    Welcome ! I live in Oakland, Ca and am fairly new too. I joined the San Francisco Bay group and it has been very informational and comforting. My son just left for bootcamp on 11/17/10 and I got my box of his belongings in the mail today. Glad you are on Navy for Moms and that our SF Bay numbers are increasing. Thanks for the encouragement that the Navy is a positive thing for our sons. I feel so too but hearing it from you is comforting and encouraging. Thanks so much :)
