A little about me:
I am my grandson's grandma/guardian. He has lived with my husband and I for the past 14 years. I own my own business in my town and my husband is a teacher at our local high school. We encouraged our grandson to join the Navy right out of high school but he wasn't ready. My husband's father and nephew were both in the Navy. My husband's father served on the USS West Virginia during WWII. We sent our grandson off to the Navy knowing that he was in good hands.

When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Our grandson needed guidance and a positive influence in his life. It is our experience from his letters home that he is receiving just that. He is growing into a proud soon to be sailor and he will be a man who is serving his country. He had recruiters that were interested in him succeeding. We believe that he had been made stronger through this experience.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

You may want to make changes 3 and 4 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile).

You may want to join Grandmas for navy.
