The Navy offers opportunities that...
The civilian sector does not. The Navy will train personnel to be a team, to learn team work and a great sense of pride to be in the Navy.

    Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.  This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.  Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!

Please note - there are blue hyperlinks up above.  Click on them and they will take you directly to the groups.

Dakota2008 - I see you are retired Navy - here is the link to the RTC website. I didn't know about this site when my son went into BC. I found it the week before PIR, so I gleaned most of my information from the RTC site. - Recruit Training Command Home Page (navy.mil)  They list up in their banner both their FB page and also a YouTube Link for watching PIR. I am fairly certain that you should be able to access the RTC's FB page without having a FB account. It is a public page to my knowledge.

I would encourage you to also join the BC Moms group as well. Come introduce yourself over there and get to know some of our other new members. Once you have a PIR date and the site admins get March and then April PIR groups set up, you may also join those.

My son has been in 3+ years and he is now out in the fleet. I am one of the several "seasoned" moms that help out with the BC Mom group and a few others on this site as well. Welcome to N4M - We are glad to have you and we always enjoy hearing sea stories from our Veterans as well as encouraging you on the other side of the fence, so to speak.
