I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
In the NROTC program
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Needed to learn more about it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Thus far, the most valuable lesson is that the decision is owned by my son. He allowed himself time to think about his options of which i am so proud of.
I told my son one year before he signed that unless you own a decision, you can't trust it. I feel privledged to be the mom of a son who is brave, noble, adventurous, intelliegent and physically talented. He made the right decision. The world is his.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

My son left for basic training on February 8th.  I know exactly how you are feeling.  I cried almost the whole week after he left.  I never thought it would be so difficult.  It does get better though.  We received 3 letters last Friday and he sounded really good.  I was so relieved!  He let us know how much he realizes why we said and did all the things for him even though we drove him crazy.  We are patiently waiting for our first phone call besides the one that we got when he arrived in Great Lakes.  Hang in there!
