I am the mom of daughter who went to boot camp on September 19, 2011 and is now HN3. So proud! Who is now HM6 and currently recruiting. My son left for boot camp on November 24, 2020
OMG, I am in tears right now. ;( As soon as he landed in Chicago on Wednesday and had a chance to call me, I tried so hard not to cry while talking to him. It was only for less than 5 minutes that we spoke. He kept telling me 'mom, I got this, I am and will be ok. I am just worried about you. Mom you will not hear from me in 3 to 4 wks from now but know that I am ok.' I was at a Drs. appointment with my 18 yr old daughter and as soon as we ended the conversation and hung up I busted out in tears in front of everyone that was at the Drs office. I couldn't contain myself. Thank you so much for the advice, I don't want him to worry therefore, I will try to hold my tears when he calls. I already have 3 letters ready to be sent to him & looking forward to his Graduation day. I am glad I came accross this site & be able to share my emotions with others. Like mom always say...There is always a reward in all-hard work and sacrifices, so you must be patient and stay strong in all circumstances." God bless you and your family! :)

Ann, Yes we did have a couple of moms who forgot the "+4 zip code" and had their boxes returned. New Post Office rule requires the 9-digit zip.
