Graduated Sailors can experience delays going to follow on training for a number of reasons. Some are awaiting results from special physicals, clearing problems with security clearances, clearing minor pre-existing legal issues, etc.
These types of issues may cause some uncertainty with regard to departure dates as we often are waiting for information/clearance from entities outside of Recruit Training Command.
Some Sailors are delayed by a few days due to class-up dates at follow on commands.
Some depart nearly immediately due to class-up dates at follow on commands.
These Sailors know what the exact departure date is (in the orders they receive).
The vast majority of graduates depart with a few days of graduation.
    I hope this information helps.
