Of course it is alright! We would be happy to invite your son over to our house on the weekends and also on Thanksgiving if he has no where to go. The more the merrier! I can pm you our cell number or if he is ok with it you can give us his and we can contact him. Sometimes that is less awkward for the sailors. By the way, what is your son's name?
