hi susan, my name is jane, my son flies out on oct 1, just about the time your baby will be graduating. i'm thinking of you, because i am having some of the same emotions you are having, i feel like i'll miss soooo much of his life not seeing him everyday. but hopefully this is just what his destiny holds for him and yours too. we want them to reach their full potential in life whether we're by thier side or not. stay strong and i hope we can be friends and support and encourage each other. God bless you and yours
Thank you soooooo much for your support! I was very excited to get your comment. I'm doing okay today and hope I continue to be strong for him. He sat at the hospital last night with one of his best high school friends whose wife was having a baby. He was texting me during labor and delivery, it was sooooo funny! His first experience to be so involved. I'm glad he get to be there. I've very emotional where my 2 children are concerned so when he first told me (last November) I had to go to the dr. to get something to help me stop crying. I got off of it after it kinda soaked in what he was going to do and I had several months left with him anyway, but boy those months went by fast. He joined in December and then qualifity for Nuke school so that pushed his BC date from May to October. I'm thankful for the extra time.Didn't mean to tell you my life story, LOL Please keep me posted on how your daughter is doing, I hope she had a wonderful experience. I just read sailormoons comment and now I feel confused and somewhat misled. I hope we don't have an experience like that, my son has put everything he has into this decision with long term plans to climb the ranks and retire from the military. Thank you again for your kind words, I'll feel your thoughts and concern on Tuesday.
I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!! We are a close, friendly, supportive group of Moms and look forward to getting to know you and your sailor. I see you have been a member of N4Ms for awhile and I take it your daughter just got to her first duty station at Norfolk? My son is stationed there also!!!! Please feel free to jump in and join our chats. You can ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life. We are all in different phases of our daughters Naval careers and we are always there for each other!!! Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!!
