  • Tannersmom Ship 14 DIV 258

My son is also Ship 7/14 now and DIV 258 and we also have not received a call other than the 1st initial call also. From what I understand that div has a tougher RDC. We did receive a letter on friday and he said they only get 20 minutes on Sunday to write and send letters. I get a LOT of "advice" about the reasons why. Everyone speculates. Also depending on the relationship with your child's recruiter, we live in a rural area and know ours really well, he has called up there to check on our son and reported back that he was doing "fantastic" so that eased our minds too.  I just look at it as if there was anything wrong we would have heard. My son has 2 other friend in same date and they split the boys up into different divisions and the other 2 boys have called home at least 2-3x and received letters. Another group of his friends left the week after him and one SR is being medically discharged. So it all seems to depend on the "team" and how the RDC's want to reward the kids or not. Or be tougher or not. I'm frustrated too, but just getting a letter was definitely better than nothing at all. Hope that helped :-)
