You get out of the Navy what you put into it. I believe we have the finest Navy in the world and am proud of the three generations of Navy service in my family
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
I see you have joined your PIR group; I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.

You may want to check out Dads on Moms.....com and http://www.navydads.com/. There is also PROUD NAVY DADS, but it is not very active.
Take care and blessings to you and yours.

The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will be of interest to you since you have a recruit in a performing division. I believe that Division 949 is Sticks/Flags.

Since your recruit will be in the Nuclear Field, you will want to join NUKE moms and you may also want to check out Nuke School Charleston and Nuke A School FAQ. The Rating Information Card for NF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/nukepower.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend when the time comes.
Your Sailor may have Prototype in Ballston Spa, NY; if so, join Moms/Dads/Families with Nukes in Ballston Spa, NY at that time. Some stay in Charleston.
