A little about me:
My son, Jerrod, left today, 6.20.2012, on the USS Eisenhower for a 9 month deployment. I'm a little nervous but overall I know he will be fine. He will turn 27 on July 2 and I'm so proud of him. He is single and loving his Navy career. I have a daughter, Jessica. She is 23, married and has a 9 month old baby. I'm a stay at home grandma and love every second of it. I am very passionate about animals and their well being. I have 2 chihuahuas, 2 dachshunds, and a cat. I also am a foster parent with a chihuahua rescue group. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. There is nothing or no one that is more important in my life than HIM. My father-in-law was in for 20.5 years before retiring. He achieved Master Chief Petty Officer. I know he is smiling down on Jerrod as he goes along his journey.

When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
From what I've seen in my son, he has grown and matured so much. He has developed skills that will go with him long after the Naval years.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
