Welcome!! Please read my blog to give you an idea of what the first few weeks may look like.. Welcome to the Navy... Everything will be ok!  The First part is some things to do before your SR leaves IF you Can, It’s NOT ESSENTIAL! Up and to the Left is a link to all the Navy Lingo! It is titled Navy Speak and you can find it here. We are here to get you through the “Great Silence” of the next 4 weeks (ish) and the 10 weeks of BC (ish). You will come to learn that No News Is GOOD News and everything is Needs of the Navy. You life will be Hurry Up and Wait and it’s ok to make plans but they are subject to change until after they have happened so it’s best to embrace the Motto: Semper Gumby!! (Always Flexible!!)

lapdja - Good Morning!! I wanted to welcome you to the N4M site and also I saw you had joined the BC Mom and Loved Ones group, so I came to introduce myself. My sailor has been in for 5+ years and I stick around and help answer questions, offer encouragement on the BC Mom group as well as I am involved in several other groups on this site.

There is a lot of information on this site and in the BC Mom group. It can be overwhelming, but it is also good to ask questions. When you go to the group page, scroll down past the information, past the discussions, and then you will come to a comment wall. That is where we carry on our daily chatter. You will start to see names of members and get to know a little bit more about each other and BC there. The conversation is fueled by you all, so the more you post the more you get out of it, in my opinion.

Here is a link to one of my discussions, that will also give you some insight into the process of how things work here, so you can make more connections maybe. - How to send PMs (Private Messages) to friends on N4M & some OPS...

    Welcome Aboard!!
