I am married to the same man for 22 years, we have 2 children, 1 in the Navy for over 2 years, and the other a Sr. in High School. I home schooled both for about 8 years. I enjoy making a variety of stained glass pieces, and computer graphic projects. I head up "Support Our Military", and Co-Head a Nursing Home/Shut in ministry, both at our church. I try to do my best in all I do, sometimes failing miserably, other times pleasantly surprising myself. I am a believing Christian who's life has been rescued from a pit of anger, bitterness and despair from wrongs done to me and my really bad choices because of those wrongs, and I love my God for pulling me out and restoring my soul. :)

When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
As much as I'd like to be, I am not in control. My son's orders are for 3 years stationed in Japan and has finished 1 1/2 years and is thinking of extending. When my heart is breaking because of the separation, I can fully trust God to watch over him and care for him, and that gives me peace.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hello Bonila, My son is in Japan but not Atsugi, Japan; he is stationed in Sasebo, Japan aboard the USS ESSEX. He has been there since March of last year, 2010. It will be almost a year since seeing him.
Hello Bonila, my son, Seth, is an IT and an E4. He is enjoying seeing places in that part of the world. He was able to call atop Mt. Fuji last summer which was pretty exciting. Don't think he is too happy about living on the ship but there aren't any other options, but he is adaptable. We have also used skype but haven't used it in a long time, the connection isn't that great. He does call when he has a chance.
