Nothing much. Single mom of 5. This sailor is my baby, by 10 minutes to her twin sister, who is attending the U of Minnesota. I also served in the army during Vietnam and had 2 sons who also enlisted in the army. So, the military life is not foreign or weird or anything special to me.
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
My only experience was that the navy accepted my 3 brothers and my father. So, I thought it was a bit off kilter. And this I believe makes it the perfect place for my off kilter daughter to be.
Karen,
I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!! We are a friendly, caring group of moms who love to chat about anything and everything. We have moms with daughters in all phases of Navy life - from newbies to some who have been in for several years - from enlisted to officer!!!! We help each other any way we can - even if just to listen, comfort, pray for one another, but also to boost, brag, and celebrate!!!!
I have a son and a daughter serving now and my other daughter was just accepted as an officer candidate in the BDCP program. The girls are twins two minutes apart!!! My husband and I also served in the Navy during Vietnam. Feel free to jump in and join our chats. Looking forward to getting to know you and your sailor!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!
Hi Karen,
It is nice to know someone that has a family member in my son's division. Have you received a letter yet? None here yet hopefully soon. I see they set up the meet and greet for 9/1/10. Are you going to it?
