It's not a good idea to post a pic of your recruit every time you post. See change 4 in OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). To increase PERSEC, don't include ANYONE in your profile pic.

Also make change 3 (see the words in bold) so that this page is no longer visible to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP Code to one that is not easily associated with you or your recruit. Also, change "Self" to "Son/Daughter" because although you are here for info and support when you indicate you are here to support "Self", then others will think you are the one in the Navy.

Yes, it would be a VERY good idea to change your profile pic. When your profile pic contains your recruit, then it is very easy to associate your posts with him. Also make the other changes.

Congratulations on your future sailor. It is a wonderful and proud feeling. Graduation is crazy. Get there very early. Prep is emotionally and physically draining. It's a lot of mind games that they play. Tell your son to take it all in stride and not personally. Stay in the moment and he will be successful. Good luck. He will have his phone so you can keep in touch.
