Hi waiting4chris. wanted to welcome you to the site and let you know that we have a large group from GA here that we invite you to join us at GA Navy moms. However I just read your blog and I know you and your guy must be very disappointed. Because of the reasons that are denying the Top secret clearance - it is unlikely that the decision will change. I wonder if this will keep him from a secret clearance as well? There are a couple of types of clearances and if you are disqualified from the clearances that will knock some job options out of his path that coupled with the overmanning situation of the military today. Clearly he did well on his ASVAB test and I hope undesignated is not the best they have to offer him at this stage. I'm sure they will look at every opening available based on his scores and his clearance situation, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there is a job that will make him happy.
We used to live in Yokosuka during some of our Navy days, our son was born there and it delayed hjs clearance but it was approved. He was hoping for orders to japan as we love the country but none were available so he is in Hawaii and will at least be seeing Japan when the ship deploys.
Wishing you and your boyfriend well, please keep us posted on what they offer him. It is challenging to find a good job in the Navy right now - I hope it all works out for him.
