Hi Jill -  agree - it’s hard to believe they are already over halfway done, but at the same time seems like it’s been forever since I’ve seen his face. It’s great to find other moms who are going through the same emotions.  I am very proud of all of them, too.  They are doing something that not many people can say they accomplished.

Its very disappointing that we can’t go to graduation.   Yes, my son just graduated from high school in may as well.   At 18 they still seem so young to be sending off.   His school pushed their ceremony to August, so he was able to walk across the stage just a week before he left for boot camp.   But you are right - it wasn’t the full experience.   Half of his class chose not to participate.

My son is going into an IT job - his A school is in Pensacola.  But my brother-in-law was in the air force for 30 years and went in as MA.   That’s great!  Does he want to get into law enforcement?   Just wondering.... my husband is a police officer.

Still hoping you get your personal letter soon!

Hi Jill, I just got your message. That's so awesome to meet a mom who's on the same journey! My son is Ship 11 Div 386. We got a letter from him saying that he has made some great friends so you never know it could be your son. He wrote this letter in quarantine so it could very well be boys that aren't in his division.

I'm about to go check the mail for a letter. :)

    Let's keep in touch :)

Hi Jill, Sorry I was on my lunch and walked away from my computer. My son arrived at MA school on Nov 17. He was sitting there waiting in Great Lakes since he graduated on Oct 29. Unfortunately he had a second ROM due to someone in the next bunk over testing positive after 5 weeks in. The guy had only been in their division for 10 hours. It was awful having him call me in tears. My son doesn't wear his heart on sleeve but you know how hard it is on these kids.

So he started classes yesterday and is so happy to finally be moving on. I lost your DM. Where is your son at in the process?
