    I see you have joined some groups and adjusted as a Navy family. Please join the New Moms Stop Here group, if you haven’t. There are many wonderful experienced members with that group if you have questions and concerns. I am going to be removing my self as your Friend because I am stepping back to concentrate on some business projects. If you need me, you’ll find me on a daily basis in the SF Bay Area Navy Families group (click on link). That is my “home” group where I am the creator/admin.     Susan - I remember last year Katie took the leave over New Year's instead of Christmas because it was 1 day longer.  The prices for tickets from 2009 to 2010 in December went up $1,000! Katie still came home and made the most of her time.  After 2 years there's some special thing for single sailors (can't remember the code) where they can opt for 30 leave days, 14 days and a plane ticket (not sure if it is from FUK to ___ USA) or special pay.  Katie plans to do that this December, if all goes well.  Her ship in Sasebo is having issues too.....they didn't get to participate in Talisman Sabre in July.

    It sems like if they get 14 days it is really 12 at home....you're right about -2 travel time.
