I have been married 23 years. Have 3 daughters, 33, 21 and 19. My nineteen year old Sarah just left for boot camp June 16th. And then she will be going for master at arms training.
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
Kim, my name is Joan otherwise navymom41 and my son is at Atsugi as well..He is an MA/security so I haven't heard from him since his day off on Thursday as there is much going on. Please know you are not alone. Our children are very important to us but we must have faith and be strong for them during this stressful time. I know the Navy will protect them and make decisions to guard their safety. I am worried as well about his girlfriend who is a Japanese National and will not be able to go with him if evacuated. So please remember you are not alone in this and I am here if you need to talk. If I get any info I will let you know and if you will do the same I would appreciate it. Again, you are not alone. Take care..
Kim, I just finished reading your info and if your daughter is an MA she is with my son Ben at Atsugi....Ben is an MA and he has been at Atsugi for the last 2.6 years...The MA's are a tight group and I know they have each other's back. We will be strong and send that strength to them thru our bond with our children...stay strong I am sure they are very busy right now..
Kim, I know just how you feel; it has been a tough week. Hard to sleep, hard to concentrate, hard to get things done. This is not a normal situation so it is understandable that it is difficult to learn how to deal with it. Hang in there. I am praying for all our sailors as that seems to be all I can do for now. And taking deep breaths. A lot of deep breaths.
